Pride doesn’t stop at Vancouver’s downtown core. Across Metro Vancouver, cities and communities are gearing up for their own celebrations this summer, offering everything from waterfront parties and drag performances to community picnics and family-friendly festivals.
Metro Vancouver is the third-largest metropolitan area in Canada, home to over 3 million residents across 21 municipalities. And while downtown Vancouver is the venue for the country’s third-largest Pride parade, with the 2026 edition set for Aug. 2, there are plenty of ways to show your Pride without going downtown.

With picturesque coastal mountain landscapes and Pacific beaches, there’s a certain appeal about the region that can’t be overstated. So if heading to the city’s bustling core is not your idea of a good Pride week, fear not — here are five things you can do outside of downtown Vancouver this month.
Burnaby Pride 2026
Where: Civic Square, 6100 Willingdon Ave., Burnaby
When: Saturday, July 25, 2026 — 3:00–7:00 p.m.
Back for the 9th year, Burnaby Pride is bringing a free, family-friendly celebration of the city’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community to Civic Square. Organizers describe the festival as the centrepiece of the city’s Pride celebrations, bringing together live performances, community programming and activities in an open, accessible setting.
The free, family-friendly event features live music, drag performances, comedy, interactive booths and opportunities to connect with local 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations and community groups. Beyond performances on stage, the festival creates space for residents to learn about local resources, services and ways to get involved. Rooted in community connection, Burnaby Pride aims to create inclusive spaces where youth, seniors, families and allies can celebrate, connect and feel supported — offering a neighbourhood-focused way to experience Pride outside Vancouver’s downtown core.
North Shore Pride Week 2026

When: July 27–Aug. 4, 2026
Head to North Shore for an extensive lineup of events put on by the local Pride Alliance running for nine days. The action-packed schedule of 2SLGBTQIA+ celebrations, community connection and events spreads across North Vancouver and West Vancouver and includes various activities designed to bring neighbours together to celebrate, learn and show support for the local queer community.
This year’s programming includes Pride flag raisings across North Shore municipalities, a Pop Up Pride Parklet, Pride Trivia Night at Lonsdale Quay, a Fabulous Drag Dinner at Parkgate, Deckchair Cinema at Cates Deck, Drag Bingo at the West Vancouver Library and a Pride March before the week wraps up with Pride at the Pier at The Shipyards.
The annual Pride at the Pier celebration will transform The Shipyards into a waterfront Pride party, featuring 2SLGBTQIA+ musicians, drag performances, a DJ dance party, local artists, community organizations, vendors, family-friendly activities and a marketplace showcasing queer creators. With views of Burrard Inlet, the event offers a chance to celebrate Pride on the North Shore while Vancouver’s Pride Parade takes place across the water. Langley Pride Day 2026
Where: Creekside Hall, 20605 51B Ave., Langley
When: Saturday, Aug. 8 — 12:00-9:30 p.m.
Celebrating inclusion, resilience, and growth for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Langley, this annual Pride celebration features live performances, drag entertainment, a panel, community booths, food vendors, local organizations and activities for all ages.
The free, all-ages festival includes a market of more than 30 local vendors and community groups, with activities throughout the day such as face painting, drag bingo, educational panels, live music, fabulous performances, and a beer garden open from 5:00 p.m. with drinks from Camp Beer Co. and Locality Brewing. Panels include “Ask an Elder” from 1:00-2:30 and “BIPOC and Queer” from 3:00-4:30, both held in the venue’s Brock-Douglas Room.

Delta Pride Picnic
Where: Memorial Park, Ladner
When: Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026 — 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
A more low-key (and traditional) way to celebrate Pride, the 8th Annual Delta Pride Picnic invites the 2SLGBTQ+ community, families and allies to gather for an afternoon of connection, celebration and community in Ladner’s Memorial Park. Organized by the Delta Pride Society, the free event is part of the organization’s ongoing work to create welcoming spaces and opportunities for people across Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation.
Some of the earliest Pride celebrations in Canada were picnics, including the Big Gay Picnic at Toronto’s Hanlan’s Point in 1971, which served as both a community gathering and planning event for the historic We Demand Rally.

The Delta Pride Picnic also has community-oriented origins, beginning in 2018 after a local parent searched for Pride Month events their Queer child could attend close to home. A group of volunteers came together with support from community members and sponsors to organize the first picnic in less than four weeks. Following an overwhelmingly positive response, the grassroots event grew into the Delta Pride Society, which now hosts annual Pride celebrations, community events, educational opportunities and resource connections throughout the year.
An honourable mention a little further from Vancouver
Chilliwack Pride Festival
Where: Central Community Park, 45951 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack
When: Sunday, Aug. 23 — 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
While Chilliwack is not in Metro Vancouver, it’s about an hour and a half away in the car, so if you’re looking for a short road trip, this might be the Pride event for you. The local Pride Festival is returning for another year, bringing with it a free, family-friendly street celebration to historic downtown Chilliwack. The pedestrian-only affair will feature live music, drag performances, market vendors, food trucks and a local Pride Crawl, creating a full day of 2SLGBTQ+ community celebration in the Fraser Valley.
The main stage will be located at Central Community Park, 45951 Victoria Ave., with festivities extending through downtown along Mill St., Wellington Ave. and Victoria Ave. Free accessible parking will be available at Central Elementary School, 9435 Young Rd., along with street parking nearby.
Chilliwack wraps up the Lower Mainland Pride season with a community festival featuring local performers, exhibitors, vendors and activities celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
